Thus at any rate the English would greatly rejoice in heart, and the children of the English living after them, and thus sorrow would reach wicked enemies, the haughty French, the treacherous Scots and the rest, so many would be in dread of Britain, our homeland, whose fame is great. So this should be the prayer of a patriotic man, but the heart of the Queen is in the hands of God. But that this should be ordained by the will of God, would that it should be so, a thing dear to God.
